He shut down Salah with a resolute defense and carried the ball confidently from the back. He had a couple of shots that went wide.

Mikel Merino (6/10):
He came on for Odegaard but couldn't provide the same attacking spark. However, he did help neutralize Mac Allister.

Martin Zubimendi (5/10):
Solid but unspectacular for the most part. He needed to take more risks with his passes and was beaten by a move by Jones that led to the goal-scoring foul.

Declan Rice (5/10):
He did an excellent job defensively and never stopped running. However, his free-kicks were poor on a day when the Gunners needed to capitalize on those opportunities.

He used his electrifying speed to outrun Kerkez on more than one occasion and forced Alisson's only save of merit. He ensured Saka wouldn't be missed.

Viktor Gyokeres (3/10):
He simply failed to get involved in the match. He was booked in the second half in another frustrating away performance, contributing to the ineffectiveness that caused the Arsenal defeat.

Gabriel Martinelli (4/10):
Aside from a couple of decent defensive moments, he offered very little to Arteta's team. He seems to be lacking confidence.

Cristhian Mosquera (7/10):
He came on for Saliba in the first five minutes and didn't back down, dealing well with Ekitike.

He made a couple of dangerous and purposeful runs in his 20 minutes on the pitch.

Martin Odegaard (6/10):
He couldn't pull a rabbit out of the hat after being brought onto the pitch in the 70th minute.

Max Dowman (S/C):
He came on as a substitute in the 89th minute.

Mikel Arteta (5/10):
Their team may have been beaten by a world-class goal, but they didn't take the necessary risks to try and win the match. Their poor run at Anfield continues and this Arsenal defeat It's a reminder that big games lack boldness.
