Flick defends Anthony Gordon's goal drought: "I'm happy with him and appreciate what he gives us"
Anthony Gordon has yet to open his scoring account for Barcelona, but Hansi Flick dispelled any doubts after the 4-2 win against Levante. The star summer signing already has four assists and 10 chances created in La Liga, and his manager is confident that the goal “will come very soon.”

Anthony Gordon failed to register a single shot on target in Barcelona's 4-2 win against Levante at the Ciutat de València stadium. The English winger, who arrived this summer from Newcastle in a multi-million pound deal, is still searching for his first goal in a Barcelona shirt. His manager doesn't seem worried at all.
Flick's staunch defense
Hansi Flick praised Anthony's tactical discipline and adaptation in a press conference: “I think Anthony gives us a lot, especially when he receives the ball. He's always able to control it and pass it to one of our players, thus maintaining possession.”
As a striker, when you have chances you want to score. I hope he scores very soon, because that will also help him fully integrate. But I'm happy with him and I really appreciate what he brings to the team.

The numbers that do shine
The goal drought coexists with elite creative output: four assists and ten chances created in the first five LaLiga matches. Barça, the reigning champions, maintain a perfect 15 points and have already equaled their best league start with a total of 21 goals for and 4 against.
In the 4-2 win against Levante, Lamine Yamal scored twice, with additional goals from Xavi Espart and Karim Adeyemi . They now have a three-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the table.

Fire schedule before the break
Flick's side host Racing Santander in Matchday 6 before visiting Sevilla on September 19. This stretch appears to be the perfect opportunity for Gordon to open his account and consolidate Barcelona's lead before the international break.
The Englishman arrived to add goals and dynamism to the left wing. If the first team loses at home against Racing, the odds for his individual transfer could change rapidly.
